Construction
Construction is one of the sectors where Ireland most needs workers, driven by housing and infrastructure demand. Roles we see regularly:
- Civil engineers, site engineers and project managers, often eligible for a Critical Skills Employment Permit
- Site safety managers
- Bricklayers, carpenters, plasterers, tilers, masons, scaffolders, and MIG and TIG welders. Which permit applies depends on the exact role and the current occupation lists, so check with us first.
IT and engineering
Most IT and professional engineering roles are on the Critical Skills Occupations List. That means no labour market test, family can apply to join straight away, and you can apply for Stamp 4 from 21 months. Roles we see regularly:
- Software developers, programmers and web developers
- IT systems analysts, IT project managers and systems managers
- Chemical, process, structural, mechanical and site engineers
The Critical Skills salary starts at €40,904 for roles on the list, with a relevant degree.
Healthcare
Nurses, midwives and many medical and health professional roles can qualify for a Critical Skills permit. Healthcare assistants and home support workers usually come under the General Employment Permit, with a minimum salary of €32,691.
